摘要:
In India the nuclear physics research has gained big momentum in the last one decade or so. In this period some new initiatives like establishment of radioactive ion beams (RIB) facilities at VECC Kolkata and TIFR Mumbai, LINear ACcelerator (LINAC) facilities at TIFR Mumbai and at IUAC Delhi, the development of Indian National Gamma Array (INGA, array of 24 Clover detectors) for gamma array detection and National Array for Neutron Detection (NAND, array of 102 big size Neutron detectors) for neutron detection have been taken. While the RIB project is yet to get commissioned, the INGA and NAND facilities are operational for quite sometimes now. These facilities have been extensively used in the last one decade and some very quality research publications have come up from them. In addition to these national initiatives, a superconducting cyclotron facility at VECC, Hybrid mass Reaction Analyzer (HYRA) and Plunger Setup at IUAC, Delhi have also come up over the last one decade. As my most of the research activities are focused at IUAC, Delhi, our local research facility, I wish to focus on the potential of this facility for the nuclear physics research during my lecture.
